Commissioners Court approved the formation of the three committees in May 2007 in order to gain citizen input on various improvements that could be made using the same combination of hotel/motel taxes and car rental taxes used to finance the County's contribution to build the AT&T Center.  The Committees were created through appointments by the Bexar County Commissioners Court.  These three citizen groups studied the use of visitor tax funds that could finance construction of river improvements, cultural facilities and amateur sports facilities in Bexar County. Their evaluation process lead to the project recommendations below to Commissioners Court.  The extension of the visitor tax be up for election on the May 2008 ballot.
